Music Therapy

Beth is a HCPC registered music therapist with experience of working with clients across the life span with experience of disability or disablement. Her early work on self identity and neurodisability was awarded the McMullen Disability Prize.

Person-centred values are central to Beth's ethos in her improvisatory music therapy practice. She believes in working at the client's pace and valuing what they bring to the therapeutic relationship. She is also heavily informed by Carolyn Shaw's (2022) Post-Ableist Music Therapy and is eager to develop least restrictive practices.

Beth has also trained in Neurologic Music Therapy, and can integrate some of these techniques into her practice, as appropriate.

Beth has an Enhanced DBS check, public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance. Beth is a full member of the British Association of Music Therapists (BAMT) and Sound Sense Community Music Organisation.
